Bandareddy Sukumar, born on January 11, 1970 in Mattaparru near Razole in East Godavari district (now Konaseema District), Andhra Pradesh, is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter. Before entering the film industry, he worked as a lecturer of mathematics and physics at a junior college in Kakinada for about seven years.
He was born into a Telugu family. His father, Tirupati Rao Naidu, was a rice merchant, and his mother, Veera Veni, was a housewife. He was the youngest of six children. At the age of 6, after the death of his beloved chicken, He decided to become a vegetarian.
He completed his schooling from Zilla Parishad High School, Razole and earned a master’s degree in mathematics. After working as a lecturer, He and his friend Prakash Toleti decided to pursue a creative career in films. Sukumar made his directorial debut in 2004 with the film Arya.
He met Tabitha Hamsini at the screening of Arya in Hyderabad and they got married in 2009 after four years of dating. Thabitha’s parents initially opposed their relationship but later accepted it. The couple has a daughter named Sukrithi and a son named Sukranth.

Bandareddy Sukumar Career Journey
Sukumar began his career as a writer in Telugu films, working on the screenplay for a few films. He wrote scenes for the 1998 film Bavagaru Bagunnara?, but backed away from the project due to ethical concerns.
To make ends meet, He returned to teaching for a while before returning to filmmaking. He worked as an assistant director for Manasichi Choodu (1998) and later worked as an assistant director for other films such as Kshemamaga Velli Labhamga Randi (2000) and Hanuman Junction (2001).
