Sekharipuram Narayanan Subrahmanyan, also known as S.N. Subrahmanyan, is an Indian businessman. He is the current Chairman and Managing Director of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a large and renowned multinational company based in India.

Sekharipuram Narayanan Subrahmanyan was born on March 16, 1960, in Chennai, India. He became the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of L&T on July 1, 2017, succeeding A. M. Naik. He also holds key positions such as Vice Chairman of LTIMindtree and L&T Technology Services, Chairman of L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited, and Chairperson of L&T Finance Holdings Ltd.
In February 2021, the Ministry of Labour and Employment appointed him as the Chairman of the National Safety Council (NSC) for a three-year term. Additionally, he is one of the nine founding members of the Climate Finance Leadership Initiative (CFLI) India.

Subrahmanyan’s father, S.S. Narayanan, was the General Manager for Indian Railways. He is married to Meena Subrahmanyan, and they have two sons, Sujay and Suraj.
He went to Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School in Mylapore, Chennai. He later earned a degree in Civil Engineering from Regional Engineering College in Kurukshetra (now known as the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra) in 1982.
Subrahmanyan then pursued a Master’s in Business Administration from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management in Pune and later completed an Executive Management Program at the London Business School.

S. N. Subrahmanyan started working in the ECC division of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) in 1984. Early in his career, he worked with well-known leaders like Cheyyur Ramaswamy Ramakrishnan, A. Ramakrishna, and K. V. Rangaswamy, who were senior figures in L&T.
In July 2011, he became a full-time director on L&T’s board and was named a board member and Senior Executive Vice-President for construction. By October 2015, he was promoted to Deputy Managing Director and Chairman of L&T. In 2017, he took on the role of Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.
Starting from October 1, 2023, he will serve as the Chairman and Managing Director of L&T.

In a video, Subrahmanyan is seen saying he regrets not being able to make his employees work on Sundays. He also mentioned that to be highly successful, one should work 90 hours a week.
However, Subrahmanyan, who is a big cricket fan and enjoys walking, often talks about the importance of staying active through daily walking and running.
