She is an American woman who went missing on November 2, 2016, while jogging about a mile from her home in Redding, California. She was 34 years old at the time. Sherri was found three weeks later on Thanksgiving Day, November 24.
She was reportedly released by her captors early that morning, still in restraints, on the side of a road about 150 miles south of where she had gone missing.
Sherri’s husband, Keith, got worried when he came home from work on November 2, 2016, and couldn’t find her.
He used the “Find My iPhone” app to locate her phone and earbuds, which were found about a mile from their home at the intersection of Sunrise Drive and Old Oregon Trail.
When Sherri was found, there was both male and female DNA on her, but it didn’t match her or her husband. The FBI checked the DNA, but there were no matches in the system.
In March 2022, it was revealed that DNA on her clothes matched her ex-boyfriend, James Reyes, who confirmed that Sherri stayed with him in Southern California while she was supposedly kidn*apped.
