Pratik Raval achieved a significant milestone on Sunday when she became the 150th Indian woman to play a One Day International (ODI) match. She made her debut in the first match of the three-match ODI series against the West Indies, where she scored 76 runs. In the second ODI, she created a record by scoring 115 runs off just 103 balls.

Pratik Rawal was born on 1 September 2000 in Delhi. She discovered her love for cricket at the age of 10, although initially, she was interested in psychology. With an affable and friendly personality, Pratik balanced her passion for cricket with her education from a young age.

She studied at Bal Bharati School and later Modern School, Barakhamba Road, and excelled academically. In her Class 12 exams in Delhi, she scored 92.5%, scoring high marks in subjects such as English (93), Psychology (93), Political Science (89), Economics (95) and Physical Education (88). After school, she pursued a degree in Psychology at Jesus and Mary College.

Pratik’s love for cricket began when she was in Class 4. Her father Pradeep Rawal, a Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) certified Level-II basketball umpire, initially disapproved of her cricket interest but later sent her to train under coach Shravan Kumar at the Dera Road Gymkhana Cricket Academy.

Pratika excelled in both cricket and basketball during her school days. In 2019, she won a gold medal in baseball at the 64th School National Games in Delhi.

Cricket Journey Of Pratik Rawal

Pratik Rawal started her cricketing journey with Delhi’s age-group teams and joined the Delhi senior women’s team in 2021. She impressed everyone by scoring 161 runs off 155 balls in her debut year. In the 2022-23 season, she scored a stunning 552 runs in List A cricket and followed it up with 411 runs the following season.

To further hone her skills, she trained under former cricketers Deepti Dhyani and Delhi women’s team coach Dishant Yagnik.

In 2021, her brilliant innings of 161 runs for Delhi made headlines. She continued her consistent form, scoring 552 runs in 14 matches during the 2022-23 season and 411 runs in just 7 innings the following season.

Pratik also captained the Delhi Under-23 team, leading the team to an unbeaten run to the final of the T20 Trophy. Although the team lost the final by three runs, she became the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament by scoring 182 runs in 9 matches.

Pratika performed brilliantly in the Delhi Women’s Premier League (WPL), where she played for East Delhi Riders and scored 93 runs in just two matches. She also performed brilliantly in the Senior Women’s ODI Trophy for the Railways team, scoring 411 runs at an impressive average of 68.50. In her List A career, she has scored 1,368 runs at an impressive average of 54.72 and an improved strike rate of 75.58.

In her international debut, Pratika scored 40 runs off 69 balls, including 4 fours, which shows her ability to carry the innings under pressure. In the second match, on December 24, she scored her first international century and made her mark as a powerful batsman. Opening the innings, he scored 115 runs in 113 balls with the help of 16 fours and proved his potential as a star player.
