Dr. Kambhampati Hari Babu is an Indian politician. He was a Member of Parliament from Visakhapatnam constituency in Andhra Pradesh in the 16th Lok Sabha. In December 2024, he was appointed Governor of Odisha after serving as Governor of Mizoram.

Hari Babu was born on 15 June 1953 in Timmasamudram village in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. His parents were the Late Kambhampati Venkateswarlu and the Late Mrs. Sitamma.
He is married to Mrs. Jayashree and has two daughters: Mrs. Chetna, who is married to Mr. Chukkapalli Chakravarthy, and Mrs. Chandana, who is married to Mr. Tripuraneni Varun. He also has two grandchildren Chukkapalli Arnina and Chukkapalli Arnava.
Hari Babu has an elder sister Mrs. Annapurna, who is married to Mr. Muddana Jayachandra Shekhar Rao and has three children: Mrs. Maruthi Devi, Mrs. Kavitha, and Mr. Suresh Babu. He also had a younger brother, Late Mr. Kambhampati Muralikrishna Babu, who was married to Mrs. Sathyavani and had two children: Mr. Kambhampati Venkatesh and Mrs. Vineela.
Hari Babu moved to Visakhapatnam to pursue a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Andhra University, where he later completed his master’s degree and PhD. He worked at Andhra University, eventually retiring as an associate professor in 1993, after which he actively joined politics.
