Physics Wallah Startup Journey
When he was in his third year of B.Tech, he decided to drop out of college. He realized that engineering was not his passion and was unhappy with how the college teachers taught.
He then started working as a tutor at a training institute in Allahabad, earning just ₹5000 per month. He worked there for nearly four years and noticed that offline classes did not reach many students.
In 2016, he created a YouTube channel called Physics Wallah – Alakh Pandey, where he uploaded free physics lecture videos. Initially, his videos didn’t get many views.
To improve, he went to Kota, Rajasthan, to buy study materials and taught from them in his videos. Over time, his channel started gaining popularity.
In 2021, he launched another YouTube channel, Alakh Pandey, to share videos about his personal life. By December 2022, his Physics Wallah channel had over 9.25 million subscribers, and his channel had more than 2.3 million subscribers.
