Political Career of Vinod Tawde
Early Career in ABVP:-
Before 1995:- Vinod Tawde was a full-time worker of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
He served as the head of the Mumbai unit of the ABVP, leading the group to several achievements and creating history in student leadership.
1995:-
Vinod Tawde became the Maharashtra General Secretary of the BJP and served until 1999.
1999:-
He was elected the President of the Mumbai Metropolitan Unit of the BJP, becoming the youngest person ever to hold the post.
2002 – 2011:-
Vinod Tawde was again assigned the role of Maharashtra General Secretary of the BJP and served for this term.
Board of Directors:-
He joined the Board of Directors of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, an organization that trains socio-political activists.
2014:-
Tawde was elected as a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Maharashtra from Borivali constituency.
On 31 October 2014, he took oath as a minister in Maharashtra for various important departments including school education, higher and technical education, medical education, Marathi language and cultural affairs.
2019:-
Vinod Tawde was appointed as the National Secretary of BJP.

2024:-
In November 2024, Vinod Tawde made news after an FIR was filed against him for allegedly giving money to people in exchange for votes for the BJP in the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha elections.
The police reportedly seized Rs. 9.93 lakh from him during their investigation. However, the BJP denied the allegations, calling them false and saying the FIR was related to a different issue involving violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
According to the complaint, Tawde was said to have had Rs. 5 crore at the start of the election campaign.
In response, Tawde sent a legal notice to the Indian National Congress (INC), demanding Rs. 100 crore in damages for defamation.
He asked for an apology from leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Supriya Shrinate within 24 hours.
