Karun Nair is an Indian cricketer who bats right-handed and occasionally bowls off-spin. Karun Nair was born on 6 December 1991 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. His parents Kaladharan Nair and Prema Nair are originally from Chengannur town in the Alappuzha district of Kerala. Karun’s father Kaladharan is a mechanical engineer working in Jodhpur when Karun was born.
Later, the family moved to Koramangala, Bangalore, where Kaladharan also worked on the sprinkler system at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Karun’s mother Prema is a teacher at Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Bangalore. Karun has an elder sister named Shruti Nair.
Karun was born prematurely, and doctors suggested he play sports to strengthen his weak lungs. He joined the Koramangala Cricket Academy in 2001 and trained under coach Shivanand.
Initially studying at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, where his mother taught, he later moved to Frank Anthony Public School for better cricket opportunities. He earned a B.Com (Hons) degree from Jain University in Bangalore.
