Karan Sharma was born on 6 March 1981 in Ranipokhri, Dehradun, Uttarakhand to a Garhwali family. His father Romesh Sharma is a filmmaker and his mother is Sujata Sharma. He is 43 years old as of 2024.
He completed his early education at Kendriya Vidyalaya and SGRR Public School in Dehradun. He graduated in English Literature from DAV College, Dehradun. Later, he received professional acting training at the National School of Drama (NSD) in Delhi.
Karan began his acting career with stage performances, acting in English and Kannada plays and playing lead roles in several theatre productions.
Karan worked in the Kannada and Assamese industries before moving to Mumbai. He made his TV debut with Pyar Ka Bandhan. Over the years, he has appeared in popular shows like Mohi, Ek Nayi Pehchaan, Kaala Teeka, and Qayamat Ki Raat. In 2018, he was set to star in Karn Sangini but was replaced at the last moment.

Acting Career Journey Of Karan Sharma
Karan Sharma started his TV career in 2009-2010 with the show Pyaar Ka Bandhan in which he played the character of Sujoy Das/Aziz. He later appeared as Anirudh Desai in Baa Bahu Aur Baby and starred in other TV shows like Sapno Se Bhare Naina and Bandini.
Karan started acting in 2009 after being selected for a workshop conducted by the National School of Drama.
In 2010-2011, he played the role of Rishabh in the popular series Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and appeared in Pavitra Rishta in 2012. Over the years, Karan played roles in shows like Gumraah: End of Innocence and Mohi. His role as Karan Modi in Ek Nayi Pehchaan (2013-2014) earned him recognition.
